Head Chef & Owner, Warren Sharples set up The Chefs Hat Catering in 2005, to bring his passion for cooking & food to catering in a totally bespoke way.

Trained at Lancaster & Morecambe College, Warren brings a wide range of experience to the business from working with large rugby events, International summer schools, foreign ambassadors, sporting personalities, lords, MPs & accomplished authors.

Warren gained further training whilst working in Australia, South Lakes & also Cumbria where he held the title of Executive Head Chef at the prestigious Sedbergh School.

The Chefs Hat Catering has an innovative and modern approach to catering using the finest seasonally available produce.

Warren will relish the opportunity to create & develop new ideas, dishes and unique concepts for clients.

Awarded numerous times for his work in education, customer care & sustainability when he founded his From Farm To Fork concept back in 2009 which went on to win 2 BPEX gold awards and gained national praise for his work in farming & product development.

Whether you want a private chef for a special dinner or a large buffet for a wedding or large corporate function, we can help.

We can provide you with sample menus and quotes. All of our menus are designed to order after our initial client meeting which we schedule at a time that suits you.  As bespoke caterers we take care to understand your vision in order to design a perfect brief for the event catering whatever the size. We can help you find the perfect venue whether it be a village hall, community centre or private event space. Warren Sharples was the executive head chef at Sedbergh School for four years and then took over the reins as head chef at the Sedbergh Prep School for two years. In his executive chef role, Warren catered for a wide range of events which made many differing demands on his skills, knowledge and creativity. He regularly catered for the Headmaster and Bursar when they were entertaining Governors and School guests for lunch or dinner which demonstrated his skills in fine dining and resulted in some very positive feedback. He was well known for running large scale dinners of up to 150 at both Schools either in celebration of a major School event or as part of pupil education which might involve a visiting speaker. In spite of the scale of these events, everyone who attended was treated to a high quality meal served to the best standards. He is undoubtedly a culinary artist an enjoys the challenge of keeping up to date with new trends while keeping a balance of traditional menus at his fingertips. As Catering Manager at the Sedbergh Prep School, Warren combined the challenge of daily feeding of children from nursery to 13 as well as teaching staff with running events for staff, parents and pupils. He was very popular in the School and had a much deserved reputation.
